The Department of Municipal Services, directed by Juan Pedro Torralba, has launched an Energy Efficiency Plan to improve street lighting in the municipality of Cartagena, which has begun with the replacement of a total of 85 luminaires in the Paseo Alfonso XIII, with which it is expected a savings of about 70% to the municipal coffers.

This work, whose main objective is to improve the lighting of the entire area of the Ensanche, has had an investment of 148,659.12 euros.

In fact, throughout the month of September will be installed a total of 150 new luminaries in the streets Pintor Balaca, Jiménez de la Espada, Ramón y Cajal, Prince of Asturias, Wssel de Guimbarda, Tierno Galván, Gonzalo de Berceo and San Martín de Porres.

"With this, what we intend is to substantially improve the lighting of the streets of Cartagena and energy savings.

In fact, all the projects that are being tendered in relation to street lighting, whether in the Neighborhood Plan and Provincial Councils, in Financially Sustainable Investments or in Participatory Budgets, already contemplate LED lighting, "said the mayor Juan Pedro Torralba .

In the next few days the works of renovation of the luminaires of the Parque de la Rosa will conclude, "the remodeling of the park is already finished and the technicians are finishing placing the new lighting.

As soon as this work is finished we will proceed to open it to the public, "the councilor explained.

Among the forecasts of the local government is also the possibility of including a progressive modification of the luminaires of the Gran Vía de La Manga with this contract.
