The Council of Municipal Services, directed by Juan Pedro Torralba, has contracted the maintenance service of gardens in the area corresponding to the Mar Menor.

"The public green areas, trees and palm trees corresponding to the population centers of Los Urrutias, Los Nietos, Minor Islands, Mar de Cristal, Playa Honda, Playa Paraíso, Cala Reona, Cala Flores, Cabo de Palos and La Manga already have a garden maintenance service that will work in more than 50,000 square meters and 2,000 trees and palm trees in the areas mentioned, "explains Juan Pedro Torralba.

The recently awarded contract has a term of one year and the winning company, which is Eulen, must make available to the service a gardening officer, a tree and palm tree trimmer, four gardeners, a van vehicle for transportation of the work equipment and a 3,500-kilos truck with tipper and lifting basket.

The maintenance contract has been awarded for an amount of 199,078.71 euros.

Councilman Juan Pedro Torralba recalled that this service was very demanded by the neighbors and that it is already at full capacity all along the coast of the Mar Menor.

Shortly it will also begin to operate in the western area of the coast.

Improvements in the playgrounds of Playa Honda and Punta Brava

On the other hand, the Government Department of Municipal Services, Citizen Participation and Celebrations, directed by Juan Pedro Torralba, has put out to tender the installation of playgrounds on the streets of Rio Tajo and Jabalón of Playa Honda and on the Laguna de Sanabria street, in Punta Brava.

The total amount of both works exceeds 30,000 euros and the execution period, once they are awarded, is one month.

Both projects will be financed with funds from the Financially Sustainable Investments of the 2017 surplus.

The goal of councilor Juan Pedro Torralba is to progressively renew the areas of children's games in the municipality that are in poor condition, while promoting the creation of new areas for children with facilities appropriate to current regulations.
