Citizens visit the new facilities of the Virgen de la Caridad Medical Center and get to know their new projects (24/07/2018)

The spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, visited the new facilities and the current work of redistribution and expansion of the Virgen de la Caridad Medical Center (CMVC), located on Jorge Juan street in Cartagena.

Manuel Padín made the tour accompanied by the hospital's managing director, José María Ferrer, who reported that about 20 people have already been hired to cover the new needs of the hospital center in which 36 new rooms have been created, two of them doubles, in the two new floors built.

The upper floor is scheduled to start operating in September and more hirings are expected.

For the local spokesman of Cs, "it is always good news that a Cartagena company grows because its success directly affects the economy of the municipality and our labor market."

Among the new facilities, the managing director highlighted the short stay surgical block, in addition to the 6 new consultations, and a cafeteria that has already opened to the public.

In addition, an imminent opening of a chemotherapy room is planned.

During the visit, the orange spokesman was interested to know the status of the procedures to make possible the construction of an underground parking under the CMVC facilities.

According to Ferrer, the project is already presented at the Town Hall and they are waiting to receive the pertinent authorization.

The objective is to double the parking spaces by creating between 185 and 190 underground parking spaces, and to clear the space of the current parking lot on the surface to install a bio-healthy circuit for the elderly.

"If everything complies with current regulations, we think it's a good idea," said Manuel Padín, who explained that this type of area "has many benefits, not only because it promotes physical activity, (a smooth, fun and low impact) but because it encourages the social interaction of its users, and awareness to the greater population of the importance of carrying out physical exercise programs to improve their autonomy and quality of life ".

In fact, Padin-informs our Municipal Group is working on an initiative to get the PSOE Government to increase the number of healthy circuits in public spaces of the municipality.

The orange spokesman also wanted to know more about the recent agreement signed between the center and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) to create a new chair that encourages the development of web and mobile applications so that the Virgen de la Caridad Medical Center administers more efficiency and agility the handling of patient information and their healthcare, guaranteeing confidentiality and efficiency in the handling of data.

On the other hand, as reported by José María Ferrer, students of the UPCT will be able to do internships in the company to complement their curriculum, and the CMVC will collaborate in training courses, conferences and in national and international projects.
