Forty students from all over the country know the management of catastrophes and emergencies through the UPCT (24/07/2018)

What should we do in case of a NBC attack (Nuclear, Biological, Radiological)?

How is an emergency plan coordinated?

How is the response to major emergencies?

What are the military survival tactics?

These are some of the topics that more than 40 professionals and students will meet that will meet as of today the summer course of the UPCT of Military Culture and Aeronautics taught at the General Air Academy of San Javier.

The seventeenth edition focuses this year on tactics and operations in disaster and emergency management.

The course includes an overview of the management of catastrophes and emergencies through different specialists from the Administration, the Armed Forces and the State Security Forces and Corps.

Military and Aeronautical Culture, already a classic in the summer courses of the UPCT, stands out for its practical nature in this edition.

The students participate today in a workshop of the NBC brigades of the Legion, in which legionaries from the base of Viátor (Almería) participate.

Next Thursday they will have the opportunity to conduct a psychological training workshop in front of critical incidents, given by the commander Pilar Bardera, head of the Psychology section of the UME (Military Emergency Unit).

The psychologist will show how to avoid being blocked by post-traumatic stress, a circumstance that prevents many times from returning to practice the profession.

The course has begun this morning.

The Emergency Service of the CARM has exposed how the emergencies in the Region of Murcia are coordinated, the civil protection and the emergency plans, the self-protection plans.

Among the speakers was Diego del Rey, deputy general director of Emergencies and director of the Emergency Center 112 of the Region of Murcia.

The course will also address other issues such as emergency health care, crowd management, air rescue actions, the humanitarian catastrophe of the displaced, cybersecurity or the response to major emergencies, among others.

Most of the students of the course are members of the State Security Forces and Corps of different Spanish cities, military, doctors, volunteer reservists and engineering students.
