María José Soler will demand that the socialist government provide the Transparency Department with resources to continue the work of MC (24/07/2018)

In the next municipal plenary session, the councilor of the MC Cartagena municipal group, María José Soler, will ask the Socialist government to cease its will to dismantle the Transparency Office, whose last example has been evidenced in the non-payment of the corresponding quota to the participation of Cartagena in the Network of Local Entities for Transparency and Citizen Participation of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces.

Soler, councilor of Transparency until the breach of the government pact by the PSOE, has denounced "the absolute disdain of the socialists to give continuity to the work done by MC, which made us the reference regional municipality in the implementation of transparency in public management. "

In the opinion of the mayor, "the ambition of chairs and game of thrones of councilor Aznar has paid the Department, which has been abandoned and dismantled, fouling in a few months the work that, together with the technicians and municipal employees, deserved numerous regional and state recognitions, being one of the few municipalities in the entire country capable of fulfilling 100% of the indicators in quality and transparency of public communication ".

At this juncture, the Cartagena councilman will demand that the Council be given "adequate human and material resources, since in MC we understand that a table and two chairs is not enough infrastructure to guarantee the objectives that this area of Government should promote. "

"Obviously, the PSOE government has an obvious problem to provide spaces where to do a serious job.

He has continued to hope that "the conclusions of the TPN will be presented shortly and the creation and consolidation of these positions will be valued." It would foster a climate of confidence and security among the officials, dissociating the necessary continuity from the Council to the political will that, in this case, it has been demonstrated that it is minimal ".

María José Soler has concluded by demanding that the current municipal officials "pay the fee to continue integrating the Network of Local Entities for Transparency and Citizen Participation that was not paid during the second week of July."

The MC councilor recalled that this entity praised the work of its training for the benefit of transparency including in its catalog of good practices the tender procedure for minor contracts, in addition to the initiative 'The Value of Transparency', an action for bring this concept to the classroom.
