The City Council will cede a plot of land in El Bohío for Asido's collective housing (13/07/2018)

The Local Government Board, gathered this morning, under the presidency of the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, has approved the cession of use to the association of Integral Care for People with Down Syndrome and their Families (ASIDO Cartagena) of a municipal land of 3,775 square meters in El Bohío, intended for the construction of a collective home as a residential solution for the adult stage of the ASIDO collective.

The house will have capacity for about 14 people in which they will welcome and care for people with Down syndrome who have grown older and need more support.

The plot is located between Pino Manso, Pino Carrasco and Juan Cabezón streets.

It will have individual and common spaces, and will also house an occupational center.

ENERGY POVERTY

The Governing Board has also agreed to the regional grant granted to the City of Cartagena for the development of actions to combat energy poverty.

With charge to this grant from the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities, of almost 133 thousand euros, the City of Cartagena will deploy actions to alleviate the effects of energy poverty of people at risk or social exclusion, ensuring the supply of energy electricity, gas and water, while saving on consumption will be promoted.

The grant period will be extended until December 31, 2018

MEDICINE FOR NEEDED PERSONS

Likewise, the Local Government Board has approved the mechanisms of control and management of the collaboration agreement between the City of Cartagena and the Official Association of Pharmacists of the Region of Murcia for the care of people in need arising from the Municipal Services to attend your pharmaceutical expenses.

Through this agreement, the City Council will cover the acquisition of medicines from people with needs derived from their health status and who, under medical prescription, require pharmaceutical producers whose expenses they can not afford due to their economic situation.

The agreement that will be signed soon by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, contemplates an expense by the City Council of 120 thousand euros, divided into four annual payments.

MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE INFANCY

The Governing Board has also agreed to initiate the process for the approval of the Regulation of the Municipal Council of Childhood and Adolescence of the City of Cartagena.

Specifically, it has been agreed to submit a preliminary draft of this draft regulation to facilitate the participation of the various groups and entities involved.

The implementation of this council is as a consequence of the declaration of Cartagena as a Child Friendly City managed by UNICEF.

In the region, only Cartagena and Lorquí have this recognition.

SANTA FLORENTINA MARKET

The Local Government Board has also approved the awarding of six vacancies in the Santa Florentina Market, which will be mostly destined for take-away.

The process has been resolved through a public call in which the 17 positions that were vacant were offered.

Of them, 11 have not been adjudicated that they will be publicly offered again in order to reactivate their operation.

Three of the awarded will go to the sale of food to take, another sale of food and beverages, another sale and tasting of gourmet preserves and vegetarian food and the last sale of oils, preserves and legumes.

ANCIENT HELMET DEBT

The Local Government Board has also approved the early repayment of the debt held by the municipal company Casco Antiguo with two financial institutions, amounting to some 4.7 million euros.

The City Council will face this amount through the municipal surplus obtained in previous years.

The company will remain in this way healthy and without debt.

Specifically, it will cancel a loan of just over 1.6 million that it had with Bankia and another of just over 3 million, with Caixa Bank.

The Local Government Board has also approved the commitment to include in the 2019 budget project the amount of 120,000 euros to start the advance processing of expenses for the contracting of production service in nursery and urban garden, reserved for special employment centers , in the installations of the municipal nursery of Urbanization Mediterranean

PACT OF THE MAYORS

The Governing Board has also begun the work for the implementation in the municipality of the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Sustainable Energy, through the approval of the project of environmental actions of the City of Cartagena.

The project that includes in ten points the implementation of what the City Council must execute in compliance with the adhesion to the aforementioned Pact and other complementary environmental activities.

Among them are reducing CO2 emissions by 40% by 2030;

increase energy efficiency savings by 27%;

increase the consumption of energy from renewable sources by 27%;

prepare a Reference Emissions Inventory (IER);

present the Action Plan for Sustainable Energy and Climate (PACES) in the place of two years from the official signing of the Pact;

submit a follow-up report at least every two years.

STRATEGIC NOISES MAP

Likewise, the Governing Board has initially approved the revision of the Strategic Noise Map of the urban agglomeration of Cartagena corresponding to the year 2017. This is the review that must be carried out every five years for its referral to the regional and state administrations and the European Union .

The City Council will soon submit this noise map to public information for a period of one month, before its final approval.
