Citizens proposes the design of a new program of Digital Training and dissemination STEAM for the Employment Plan (09/07/2018)

- Cs sends the Government the need to establish training plans related to Big Data, Internet of Things, Online Marketing, social networks, e-commerce, apps economy, information security, Google Analytis, or cloud computing

The Municipal Citizens Group has sent the Government another proposal to include a program of digital training and dissemination STEAM in the Strategic Employment Plan of Cartagena.

The objective of the Cs program is to promote mobility and access to information, facilitate the promotion of new professions derived from technological progress, share the concept of digital citizenship and create actions that allow active participation in the information society, and , as a consequence, increase the employability of large sectors of the population plagued by the lack of job opportunities in the municipality.

The spokesman of the orange training wants that "Cartagena is not left behind in the race for innovation and digital competition that is being held worldwide," and that is why our Municipal Group has proposed that training plans be designed to link with Big Data, Internet of Things, Online Marketing, social networks, e-commerce, apps economy, information security, Google Analytis, and cloud computing, among others ".

In addition, the orange party aims to update the courses organized by different municipal and regional bodies so that this training guarantees without doubt the use of ICTs so that European certification in digital competences can be achieved.

The orange training also foresees plans for the small business of Cartagena to be formed in electronic commerce: e-administration, electronic invoicing, attainment of the official Hootsuite certification, or Google Adwords, and a project to favor the labor insertion of people with disabilities. so that they can prove their digital competence and thus increase their employability.

STEAM Program

Cs has also sent the Government its interest in creating a program of dissemination and incentive 'STEAM', (scientific and technological information towards citizenship), "especially at early ages," says the spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, who explains that "it is about promoting the scientific vocation through public administration through subjects such as Science, Technology, Engineering, and Arts and Mathematics, from a multidisciplinary prism friendly, stimulating and motivating."

Cs spokesman explained that his Municipal Group has been investigating this kind of programs in those municipalities where they are already running, "and we are really excited to bring to Cartagena the best findings we have found as some projects focused on innovation, creativity, in the search for solutions to the difficulties of daily life through the use of information and communication technologies and virtual learning spaces ".

According to Padín, "the budget to achieve this is not too high, for example, making available to public groups the public resources of underused municipal laboratories on some dates, the creation of manufacturing laboratories (FabLab), the training of coordinators to promote the use of these resources, and those that exist in educational centers after an agreement with the Community, all that is within our reach ".

Urge the Community to provide materials and didactic resources that implement active methodologies in the classroom in STEAM areas or establish alliances with other institutions, educational or strategic in our environment that help to enhance the objectives of this particular program, are other suggestions of Citizens
