The hospital complex of Cartagena has four teaching accreditations in the last two years (08/07/2018)

The university hospital complex of Cartagena, integrated by the hospitals Santa Lucía and Santa María del Rosell, has obtained four teaching accreditations in the last two years.

He has recently obtained the accreditation of the Teaching Unit of the specialty of Radiation Oncology of the Ministry of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare.

This accreditation is added to those obtained in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, Urology and Radiodiagnosis in the last two years.

This recognition increases the overall teaching capacity of the health area of ​​Cartagena, which now stands at 26 residents, as a result of the joint work of the Radiation Oncology Service and the Headquarters of the Hospital Complex of Cartagena, in cooperation with the Unit of Professional Development of the General Direction of Human Resources of the Murcian Health Service.

This accreditation will allow the hospital complex to offer a resident position per year in the aforementioned specialty of Radiation Oncology, guaranteeing the latter to acquire all the competencies foreseen in the training program of this specialty, by having the service with the requirements and precise standards in human and physical resources, assistance activity, teaching and research activity and quality.

This new accreditation will increase the global teaching capacity of the university hospital complex in Cartagena, which currently has 25 teaching positions in other specialties.

The hospital services for which the doctors in Cartagena spend four and five years to complete their specialization are Clinical Analysis, Pathology, Anesthesia and Resuscitation, Digestive Apparatus, Cardiology, General and Digestive Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, Endocrinology and Nutrition, Pharmacy Hospital, Intensive Medicine, as well as Internal Medicine, Neurology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Otorhinolaryngology, Radiodiagnosis and Urology.

In addition, residents of other teaching units rotate;

in particular, those of the specialties of the specialties of Pediatrics, Pediatric Nursing, Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology, Specialist Nursing in Obstetric-Gynecological (Midwives), Medicine and Family and Community Nursing.
