Manuel Padín: "MC and PSOE are responsible for 40% of our initiatives have not yet been executed" (04/07/2018)

- "It is disappointing the number of motions approved but not executed that we have handed over to the Commission, knowing our data and assuming the rest, it is urgent that the Executive go to work to end as soon as possible with the collapse of the City Council in this matter", says the spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín

- After the delivery of all unfulfilled initiatives, the secretary has committed to review each of them, take stock and ask the departments that correspond the reasons for non-execution

During the Commission for the Execution of Agreements of the Plenary held on Wednesday, the various political forces have delivered the motions that were approved in plenary but have not yet been carried out.

Orange training calculates that about 40% of its initiatives have not yet been implemented, "a figure that is alarming and disappointing, because it deals with plenary agreements whose implementation would bring great benefits for the municipality," says the spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena , Manuel Padín.

"It is worrisome the number of motions approved but not executed that we have handed over to the Commission, knowing our data and assuming the rest, it is urgent that the Executive go to work to finish as soon as possible with the collapse of the City Council in this matter", says the orange spokesman.

"This commission, created in 2016 thanks to a motion presented by Cs and whose presidency holds the councilor of Movimiento Ciudadano, María José Soler, was created one year after its approval, and Mrs. Soler has needed another year to return to summon it ", denounces Manuel Padín who says that" MC and PSEO are responsible for 40% of our initiatives have not been executed yet. "

Cs Cartagena has delivered a list of around 40 initiatives that have not yet been executed, including: the Plan for the integral improvement of the Torres Park, the creation of a Sports Observatory, the Open Courtyards program, the ZAL conference cycle, the restoration of the main funeral monuments of the cemetery of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios and its inclusion in the European Route of Cemeteries, and a series of measures to encourage the use of electric transport in Cartagena.

"We are confident that this commission will meet again in a maximum period of three months and that we obtain as soon as possible a response to why all these initiatives have not yet been carried out," says Manuel Padín who recalls that "the Plenary Agreements Commission was created at the proposal of Citizens with the aim of the City Council winning transparency and democracy by allowing real and effective control of the opposition to the Government's actions ".

After the delivery of all unfulfilled initiatives, the secretary has committed to review each of them, take stock and ask the corresponding departments the reasons for their non-execution.

Celebration of the Debate on the State of the Municipality and modification of the ROP

The celebration of the Debate on the State of the Municipality is one of the unfulfilled agreements that are included in the list delivered to the commission, and that was unanimously approved by the Plenary in November 2016. At the last Plenary, Citizens asked the local Government of the PSOE for the reasons why a date has not yet been established to hold the debate and the spokesperson of the PSOE in Cartagena, Obdulia Gomez limited herself to answering that the local government was looking for the most appropriate date.

"This debate could serve as a meeting point to reach a minimum agreement and thus regulate the presentation and execution of initiatives, and thus end the paralysis that this City Council suffers as a result of the pact between PSOE and MC," says Manuel Padín.

The modification of the Organic Regulation of the Plenary is another of the plenary agreements that includes the list and that "it would help to improve the operation and the efficiency of the municipal policy", concludes the orange spokesman.
