The new students of the UPCT will have a tutor during the race from September (29/06/2018)

Each of the new students who enroll in the School of Telecommunications or the School of Business Sciences at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) will have an individualized attention from the next course.

The students will have a tutor who will be responsible for continuous and permanent monitoring according to their needs and personal circumstances, explains the Quality Coordinator, Eva Martínez Caro.

The Governing Council today approved the guidelines of the tutorial action plan of the UPCT centers.

This pilot project will be launched next September with 15 teacher-tutors and 15 student-tutors in each of the centers.

The tutors have volunteered to participate in the project and will receive training during the month of July.

This tutorial action program aims to promote the integration of students in the University, identify the difficulties that arise during their studies and analyze possible solutions, advise students in the choice of their curricular itinerary as well as guide them to facilitate their incursion into the world of work.

On the other hand, the tutors will recommend to the new students activities that suppose an improvement in their training as courses for the acquisition of transversal competences, informative talks about practices or mobility programs to which they can take advantage, or seminars on their specialty, among others. .

The initiative will promote the integration of the student in the UPCT while receiving academic, personal and professional guidance.
