The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Councilor for Sports, Obdulia Gómez, received on Thursday, June 21, at the Sports Palace the players of the Cartagena Women's Basketball Club, which this season have achieved promotion to the First Division .

In the same act they were presented to the players that form the bases of the club.

The mayor congratulated them for their achievements and reminded them that they are an example for all the girls who are told that basketball is a man's thing.

"I had the opportunity to personally congratulate the players of the Cartagena Women's Basketball Club who have achieved promotion to the First Division this season, and Cartagena deserved to be in the elite of women's basketball and they have made it possible," he assured.
