Cartagena joins, on Thursday, June 14, the celebration of the National Day of Sign Languages, in which several emblematic buildings and monuments across the country will illuminate its turquoise blue facades as a way of recognizing this day.

For this reason the facade of the Palace Hall will be illuminated with this color, with the aim of calling the attention of society to deaf and deafblind people, as well as remembering the need to join efforts so that these people can exercise their rights as citizens .

The purpose of this commemoration is to give visibility to the sign language, and turn it into an essential tool for the construction of equality, solidarity and justice.

It is an important opportunity to spread a positive image of sign languages and therefore of deaf and deafblind people.
