Gabriela Mistral and Antonio Ramos Carratalá, finalists of the Road Safety contest, was held today at the Cultural Center |

The Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center hosted Wednesday, June 13, the closing ceremony of the Road Safety Course 2017-2018, which this year celebrates the final phase of the Third Road Safety Contest with the slogan "Think of the planet, uses bicycle "and in which the finalist colleges have been Gabriela Mistral, Antonio Ramos Carratalá and Virgen de Begoña.

Each school has been represented by a team of six students, who have had to answer questions related to the correct behavior of road safety in various scenarios, as well as concepts and traffic signs.

The winner in this edition of the contest has been the Colegio Virgen de Begoña.

The edile of Education, Culture and Youth, David Martínez Noguera, attended the awards ceremony;

and the councilor of the area of ​​Sustainable Development and Public Function, Francisco Aznar, who have been in charge of closing the contest.

The winning team, Virgen de Begoña, and for everyone else, has delivered a bicycle helmet and ESPAC has given them a vest to all team members, a cap and reflective bands to make the cyclists visible .

Aznar has stressed that the important thing is participation and not who has won, while he has indicated that the objective of the program is for children to become aware and aware of traffic regulations, "now as pedestrians and on bicycles and when 18 years as drivers, "he added.

For his part, David Martinez has highlighted the theme of this year "Think of the planet, use a bicycle", and stressed the importance of children learn to use the bicycle correctly so that when they are adults, they pollute less.

PARTICIPATION IN ROAD EDUCATION

During this 2017-2018 academic year, 3,036 students have participated and 2,564 membership cards have been delivered so that they can enjoy the facilities of the Road Education park on Angel Bruna Street in Cartagena.

As in previous years, the Road Education Park organizes, designs and plans the Summer School, which will take place during the month of July, from Monday to Thursday from nine thirty to eleven thirty.
