Electronics students in the UPCT will also be able to obtain a degree in Robotics in Lithuania (12/06/2018)

The students of Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena are in luck.

From the next course they will be able to complete their academic curriculum with a degree from the Kaunas Technology University (KTU) of Lithuania, specialized in Robotics and Cybernetics, which they would obtain while completing their degree in the UPCT.

The students of the Polytechnic will study in Lithuanian the subjects that will allow them to obtain the double degree, while the students of the KTU that want to finish their training in the UPCT will receive the classes in Spanish but will have teaching material and individual tutoring in English.

The double degree agreement was signed last month after two years of contacts between the two universities, "in which the teachers of the ETSII Miguel Almonacid and Julio Ibarrola along with Professor Virginijus Baranauskas of the KTU participated as well as the previous one and the current deputy director of International Relations of the School of Industrialists (ETSII), Francisco Vera and Carlos Godínez ", highlights the latter.

The agreement contemplates admission and enrollment periods for students who are interested in doing so, both in Cartagena and Kaunas, as well as the details related to the academic itinerary that students must follow to obtain the Double Degree.

Although there is no limitation of places, the agreement foresees that between five and ten students could benefit annually from this program between both institutions.

More double title options

The Polytechnic of Cartagena has other agreements of double title in force so that the students of the Master of Industrial can also get the postgraduate in Mechanical Engineering, Productions and Materials by the prestigious University of Stuttgart, a possibility that has already benefited several students.

There is also a similar agreement with the University of the Aegean in Turkey, from which many students have come to take the Master in Advanced Techniques in Agricultural and Food Research and Development (TAIDA).

In addition, the UPCT is finalizing agreements with the University of Applied Sciences of Cléveris (Germany), with the French school of engineers ESAIP and with the University of Sciences and Technology of Oran (Algeria).

With the same objective, conversations have been initiated with institutions in Peru, India and Morocco.
