Medicine and new technologies meet at a congress in the Hospital Santa María del Rosell (31/05/2018)

The General University Hospital Santa María del Rosell hosts from Thursday, May 31, until June 2, the III National Seminar of Medicine and New Technologies of Semergen, where attendees will work and share knowledge, projects, workshops, communications and presentations about medicine and new technologies.

This national congress, which will open on May 31 at 8 pm, the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, will place the Region of Murcia as the global epicenter of medicine and new technologies, since it will be broadcast in streaming and with inscriptions from South America and Europe.

The inaugural lecture will be given by the Professor of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Joaquín Roca González, and will deal with robotics, biomedical engineering and medicine.

Through the round tables "Implantation of new technologies in the Murcian Health Service" and "Digital tools as a motor for training the doctor", the lecturers will share their experiences and knowledge with the attendees of the event.

As a novel aspect in a medical congress, and thanks to the Spanish Navy, a connection will be established in real time with a Navy ship, specifically the flagship of the Spanish Navy, Juan Carlos I, through the Telemedicine systems via satellite with whom a communication will be established.

The Lieutenant Coronel Médico, Pedro J. Gil López, Head of the Telemedicine Service of the Central Defense Hospital "Gómez Ulla" of Madrid, will be in charge of and as speaker.

At least nine workshops will be organized during the three days, there will also be presentations of digital health startups, defense of communications, and prizes for the most outstanding.

Finally, the conference will be held by Xabier Olba, consultant in digital strategy and innovation in health of Barcelona, ​​"Digital health as a motor to innovate in our care practice".

This congress has the scientific endorsement of SEMERGEN and the Working Group of New Technologies, with recognition as a scientific-sanitary interest, and officially accredited with training credits: 1.9 CFC credits. Health Professions of the Region of Murcia and 0, 5 ECTS credits at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.

It is free for medical students, and has important sponsors and collaborators among which is the Medical Association of the Region of Murcia.
