Music, Theater and Archeology are at the heart of Cartagena's summer program Puerto de Culturas (30/05/2018)

Cartagena Port of Cultures has prepared from June to September 2018 a program of more than 200 activities that fuses Archeology, Music, Theater and Gastronomy;

which will open the Concerts of the Fort on June 1, 22 and 29.

The presentation of the activities has been carried out by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón;

who has indicated that for these concerts they have become an experience because they have all the ingredients to enjoy beautiful evenings, where the "city becomes golden by the sun and salty by the sea".

CHRISTMAS STRONG CONCERTS: JAIME URRUTIA, KIKO VENENO AND VARRY BRAVA

The councilor said that on Friday, June 1, Jaime Urrutia, the most visible face of Gabinete Caligari, will open the cycle of concerts with his guitar and unmistakable style where the best songs from his solo stage and the great successes of the legendary band will sound. .

On June 22 will be Kiko Veneno, "who will shortly hang the complete poster", explained Castejón;

and the Varry Brava concert series will close on June 29 with its fresh and fun air, which will make a show at the Christmas Fort to present all the energy of his new work, FUROR.

The ship of Cartagena Port of Cultures will take the assistants to the Fort of Christmas of the 19th century, where they will be offered tapas of sausages and varied cheeses accompanied by a snack and a cocktail.

The mayor thanked the collaboration of the collaborating brands such as Grupo Casa Tomas, Papilio Group, GM Food Iberia Group, José Díaz, Licor 43 and Estrella Dam.

GUIDED AND THEATRALIZED ROUTES AND NIGHT VISITS

On the other hand, from the month of June to September, more than 200 activities will be carried out, such as guided, dramatized routes, activities for children and night visits.

From Monday to Friday there will be a guided tour, which will show different aspects and periods of the history of the city of Cartagena, such as "Great conquests and battles", "Leisure and pleasure, blood and sand", "Isaac Peral, the inventor and the mar "," Citizens of an Empire "and" Pan and Circus: of gladiators, hot springs and theaters ".

On Saturdays in August will return the successful theatrical route of gladiators "Hermes and Maximus: gods of the show", a fascinating route that runs through the Roman Theater Museum, the Augusteum and Punic Wall, the latter's museum, which houses the exhibition "Gladiators, gods Of the sand".

In the visits and special activities, Castejón has highlighted as a novelty this year, the incorporation of virtual visits to the Roman Theater or the theatrical visit of the Mad Gladiator Academy, in the Punic Wall.

The councilor has made a special mention to the nocturnal activities.

Dramatized tours, boat trips with live music and a Roman dinner with gladiatorial shows are the star activities to enjoy a nightly evening with a halo of charm to live unique experiences.

"Isis, the goddess of the Nile" has been one of the activities on which the mayor has emphasized, since it is a magical theatrical visit in the Barrio del Foro Romano, where the priest of Isis will unveil the mysteries of the goddess of the Mediterranean.

For its part, "Aulaeum, below the curtain" is an exclusive theatrical visit of great reception by the public, accompanied by the famous architect Vitruvio, surprise in a special tour, where the visitor will feel connected to the magnificent theater of 2000 years ago .

He also stressed that there will also be night visits with very limited capacity, in the two large sites that show the charm of the night, illuminated by a very special light "The Forum Neighborhood under the Stars" and "The Roman Theater under the Moonlight".

To these visits is added a boat trip through the bay of Cartagena with live music, which will sound the best soul themes starring the sunsets from the sea.

As a novelty in the evening activities, there will be a Roman dinner with a gladiator show at the Punic Wall, with a menu specially designed to satisfy all the senses that will take place on September 7.

The mayor has invited neighbors and visitors to sign up for these activities, while he has invited them to hurry, as soon will be hung "the poster of everything complete," he concluded.
