Cs recriminates the PSOE to seek help from the rest of the forces after failing alone in Cartagena High Speed (29/05/2018)

- "We have proposed that the Government challenge the agreement in accordance with article 205.1 of the Capital Companies Act, which argues that it can be done when" agreements that, because of their circumstances, cause or content are contrary to public order, are aimed at ". has indicated the local spokesman of Cs who believes "the City Council, by virtue of what happened in Murcia, can argue this loaded with reason, and at the same time we need the protection of the Ombudsman"

- "The attitude of the PSOE with this whole matter has been absolutely insane, they have wanted to address a vital issue for the future of Cartagena alone when they only represent 17 percent of the electorate," says Manuel Padín

The Municipal Group of Citizens of Cartagena has informed today that it will support the convocation of an extraordinary and monographic plenary session on the decision made yesterday by the Board of Directors of the Cartagena High Speed Society so that the arrival of the AVE to Cartagena will take place on the surface.

"We believe that it is a relevant appointment and in view of the refusal of the PSOE to comply with the plenary mandate to convene a Board of Spokespersons on this matter, necessary."

For Padin, "at this moment, the most important thing is to get the agreement postponed until a broad political and social consensus is reached, which must necessarily be the City of Cartagena, doing something else is to provoke a social conflict in this municipality and our responsibility as public representatives is to avoid it. "

"We have proposed that the Government challenge the agreement in accordance with Article 205.1 of the Capital Companies Act, which argues that it can be done when" agreements that, because of their circumstances, cause or content are contrary to public order, "are intended. pointed out the spokesman of Cs who believes "the City Council, by virtue of what happened in Murcia, can argue this loaded with reason, and at the same time we need the protection of the Ombudsman."

PSOE insane

"The attitude of the PSOE with this whole issue has been absolutely insane, they wanted to address a vital issue for the future of Cartagena alone when they only represent 17 percent of the electorate, lamented Manuel Padin who believes that" the Socialist Group it is not legitimized to defend participation and transparency in this City Council. "" Mrs. Castejón has refused to share the technical documentation of the Adif proposal with the rest of the political formations, and thus has prevented the contribution and possible support of some parties that represent more than 83 percent of Cartagena, "said Padín.

"Castejón has participated in the Board of Directors without having a specific proposal for the arrival of the AVE and his weak and disoriented position has allowed him to pass over the PP roll", explained the orange spokesman who remembers that one day he even arrived to ask the Port Authority to pay for the burying of the roads when these public bodies can not invest in burial because they can only do so in actions to lighten the traffic of goods or in areas of port competition. "

Eight months gasping participation

On October 16, 2017, Ciudadanos submitted a request to the mayor of Cartagena, calling it to convene an extraordinary Spokesperson's Meeting that included representatives of the public entity Administrator of Railway Infrastructures (Adif) to try to bring together positions among all the municipal groups with representation. in the city Hall.

Faced with the lack of response, the orange formation took this issue to the plenary session on November 30 and managed to move forward, unanimously, a motion to convene this Board of Spokesmen.

Since the local government has been violating since that plenary mandate, Citizens on May 15 sent a letter to the cabinet of the Mayor recalling its obligation to convene as soon as possible the Board of Spokespersons to inform and treat in a monographic way the options that Adif has raised for the arrival of the AVE to the municipality and to make delivery to all political groups of the technical documentation provided to justify the options that exist for the arrival of High Speed to Cartagena.

In that last letter, Cs also proposed the creation of a Monitoring Commission of the alternatives for the arrival of the AVE in which the residents of Cartagena are represented, especially the neighbors affected by the route of the arrival of High Speed in the municipality.

Regarding the alternatives of the arrival of the AVE, the spokesman of Citizens has indicated that his Municipal Group has been in recent months in "permanent contact" with his party at regional and national level, and with the National Commission for Development and Infrastructure of the party "that the City Council has denied us all the technical documentation of Adif's proposals is delaying our decision, which will be documented, sensible, and will match the need for High Speed to arrive as soon as possible so as not to slow down our development, with the expansion urban planning of the municipality, the neighborhood concern for the possible isolation and the wall effect in diverse populations, the conjugation of the railway modification with the implantation of the Cercanías and the decontamination of the land ... many social and economic variables in a very complex matter that can mark the future of Cartagena, so it requires a very thoughtful and technically very sound departure

mentioned. "
