The UPCT offers free courses for unemployed people in e-commerce, data analysis and software development (28/05/2018)

The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), within the framework of the European project 'New Professions, new Educational Methods and new Jobs', has launched three free courses to improve the digital skills of workers and the unemployed.

The courses offered are Electronic Commerce and Digital Marketing, Data Analysis and Business Intelligence and Agile Software Development Methodologies.

This initiative funded by the European Union aims to increase the level of digitalization in European countries that is currently estimated at 12% compared to 18% in countries such as the United States.

It is estimated that nine out of ten workers must have some digital competence in the coming years.

The courses will begin in the month of June and their approach is eminently practical since it is based on the realization of projects, both individually and collaboratively, 'learning by doing'.

They are taught in the afternoon, limiting the classroom to a few afternoons and providing extensive support in the form of on-line, personal and group tutoring.

The three courses in digital skills are aimed at both companies, freelancers and employees who need to update on these issues to improve their productivity, as well as unemployed who want to increase their employability by incorporating widely demanded knowledge and skills into their curriculum.

Certificates will be issued to attendees who complete the courses with use.
