Relatives and friends of Rocío Salas will raise funds with a solidarity route that will run along the Vía Verde.
A new sporting event - solidary whose objective is to obtain money to be able to cover the expensive treatment that Rocio needs to recover the vision and to treat other physical problems that it suffers.
'Un Amanecer por Rocío Salas' will be held on Saturday, June 2.
The solidary route 'Un Amanecer por Rocío Salas' will run along the Vía Verde, from Cartagena to Totana, traveling 68 kilometers.
With departure from the dock of Santiago, in the Cartagena neighborhood of Santa Lucia, the route will start at 6:00 am.
The solidarity event was presented today by the Councilor for Sports, Obdulia Gómez, the head of Kampamento Base, Juan de Diós Jiménez, and the mother of Rocio Salas, María Luisa Gallego.
Rocio will participate the first 7 kilometers in the Joëlette chair, an adapted chair that was acquired by the City Council of Cartagena so that people with disabilities, or reduced mobility, can participate in sports activities through the project 'Strides on wheels'.
It will also do it in another part of the journey, the one that joins the Vía Verde Totana and the Sanctuary of the same name.
Councilor for Sports, explained that the collection of this solidarity route will be to cover the costly treatment that Rocio needs to recover vision and to treat other physical problems he suffers.
The benefits will be obtained from the sale of the shirt needed to participate in the route, for a price of 10 euros.
The shirt can be purchased in advance at the Kampamento Base in La Senda del Javalí, as well as at the departure point on the same day of the route or at the different refreshment points.
