The cyclist José Uribe completes the Double Everesting Galeras (21/05/2018)

The athlete José Uribe carried out the Double Everesting Galeras on May 19 and 20, in which he made a total of 106 ascents, in 18,000 vertical meters during 48 hours.

The Everesting concept was created in 2014 by the Australian Andy Van Vergen and consists in climbing in a single activity a cumulative difference equal to or equal to the altitude of Everest, which is 8,848 meters.

The challenge that Uribe has faced is the Double Everesting Galeras, for which he has overcome a vertical ascent of twice the height of Everest.

During the hours that have lasted the rest, Uribe has been able to stop in all the occasions that it has needed, although it has only been able to sleep two hours.

The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, will receive the cyclist in the Mayor's office of the Town Hall to congratulate her for her triumph on Wednesday, May 23 at 2:00 p.m.
