Cs regrets the inability of the Government to articulate a strong project to win Edusi's European funds (08/05/2018)

- The spokesman of Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, has described this result as an "important blow, the needs of our Historic Quarter are innumerable and that economic injection would have been a revulsive for the development of Cartagena, and more if we take into account the investment paralysis that has existed since 2015 "

Ministry of Finance for the third consecutive year and do not receive the 15 million euros from the European funds of the Integrated Sustainable Urban Development Strategy (Edusi).

The spokesman of Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padin, has described this result as a "new setback for Cartagena, the needs of our Historic District are innumerable, this economic injection would have been a real revulsive for the development of Cartagena, which also suffers paralysis investment that the local Executive has generated since 2015 thanks to MC and PSOE ".

"We do not learn the lesson of previous years, and we fail again to get our project to have a competitive score for the specialized technicians of the Ministry, something we must be doing badly so that other municipalities such as Murcia, Águilas, Molina de Segura, Torre Pacheco The Towers of Cotillas yes have obtained these bottoms but not Cartagena, with the deep necessities that we have ", has indicated the orange spokesman who considers that" when a candidacy to a call is presented so important it tries to present a plan that is supported and enriched by the greater number of municipal and regional collectives and institutions, and not insist on walking alone and with the same project that was previously defeated. "

On the other hand, the spokesman for Citizens also wants to denounce the lack of commitment of the current local government of Cartagena with the participation since the City Council has not promoted any meeting with the rest of groups to discuss the Edusi strategy this year.

According to Padín "the more voices, experience, proposals, support and consensus we have, the stronger our position as a municipal corporation will be in this call."

In this sense, the spokesman of Citizens has announced that his Group will prepare a proposal "to end this dynamic of failure and lay the foundations for us to achieve the goal in the next call".

According to Manuel Padín, "the government would do well to examine itself trying to know what has failed again so that a municipality as important and with as many needs as ours has been ruled out of three calls for European funds."

"A Government in permanent crisis, in an absolute minority, does not facilitate much less a strong candidacy neither for the Edusi nor for nothing", has concluded Manuel Padín.
