The School Board unanimously approves the creation of a bulletin board against bullying proposed by Citizens (02/05/2018)

- "The municipal educational services are one of the key links to address this problem, and from now on, they will be able to better control compliance with the measures that are being implemented by the Ministry of Education," the local spokesperson informed. orange

The Municipal School Council has unanimously approved the proposal of Citizens to create a work table against bullying.

The spokesman for Citizens in Cartagena, Manuel Padín, recalled that seven months ago, the Plenary gave the green light to the creation of this table in which the teachers will be represented, the AMPAS of the schools of the municipality, the Ministry of Education, the political groups and experts in the field that advise on this problem.

The agreement promoted by the orange training included the reinforcement of annual campaigns by the City Council and the Local Police to raise awareness of the importance of tackling bullying and the organization of activities aimed at teachers, families, and students to facilitate the detection of this form of abuse in all its forms.

According to Manuel Padín, "municipal education services are one of the key links to address this problem, and from now on they will be able to better control compliance with the measures that are being progressively implemented by the Ministry of Education, and establish instruments to do against this complex and changing form of violence at an early age. "

"We appreciate the goodwill of the Government of Cartagena in this matter and we celebrate the good reception that the proposal has had in the School Council," said Padín.

32% of the students, which is equivalent to one out of every three children, affirm that in their class they suffer bullying situations, according to the results of a recent report of the Mutua Madrileña Foundation and the ANAR Foundation.

This study also concludes, in terms of perception, that the number of students who see bullying as a type of abuse (97.7%) has increased exponentially and has reduced the number of those who consider it only a joke or something normal that happens between partners.

PP and Podemos prevented a regional plan against bullying in the Assembly

The local spokesman of Citizens has recalled that his Parliamentary Group presented in December 2015 an initiative to activate the protocol KiVa prevention against bullying, which was ultimately rejected by the vote against Popular Party and Podemos.

Manuel Padín has reported that it is a protocol that works worldwide with a success rate of more than 70% and that has already been successfully implemented in several regions of Spain, including Cartagena, "the Miralmonte School, located in the polygon of Santa Ana, has launched it, is the first and only center of the Community that has incorporated this system, which focuses on addressing the problem from prevention, intervention and monitoring, we will continue working for that the educational centers of this Community incorporate this kind of protocols ".
