CTSSP continues betting on the poorest and most degraded neighborhoods (30/04/2018)

In the last municipal plenary session CTSSP did not approve the proposal of the municipal government to invest the 2.5 million euros of the surplus of 2017, mainly due to its lack of specificity and also because they included actions that were already reflected in the participatory budgets included in the budget for the 2018, endowed with 3.4 million euros.

It is for what the resident formation is going to propose to the PSOE government, that the surplus of 2017 is destined to the neighborhoods of Cartagena that have been forgotten for years by the administration, and that urgently need the implementation of integral plans that imply actions in infrastructures such as lighting, arrangement of streets and lots, parks and gardens, sports spaces, also in urban planning, environment, security, without forgetting the social aspect, setting in motion a socio-community intervention to meet the tremendous social needs arising in those neighborhoods after years of abandonment.

The neighborhoods proposed by CTSSP for the investment of 2 million euros of the surplus are;

Villalba, Lo Campano, Barriada Virgen de la Caridad, San Antón, Los Mateos, and Santa Lucía.

To these 2 million euros we would have to add 750,000 euros more, an amendment submitted by Podemos to the budgets of 2018 for the attention of integral plans in the most degraded neighborhoods of Cartagena, taking as a priority the culmination of the Fenix Manifesto, with which committed the socialist government and that must comply.

The proposal of CTSSP to invest the surplus of 2017 also includes the implementation of a Municipal Plan for "school shadow", providing it with 500,000 to meet the demand of many public schools in our municipality, which lack any infrastructure so that Children can be protected from the sun and the high temperatures of our climate, which occur in many months of the year.

Plans like this one are already being executed in other municipalities of the region, where the Town Councils have assumed the cost of the works that would benefit the school community of many public centers and that the purple formation considers as a basic need.

In addition, remember that this action has also been demanded by the residents of El Algar for the San Isidoro school through participatory budgets without getting their request approved.

From the municipal group of Podemos they inform that they are already working on the concretion of the proposal, to define in which works the surplus of 2017 can be destined.
