III Meetings and workshops on graphic design and digital (07/06/2010)

Popular with the Bartlett School of Architecture University organized this activity for the third consecutive year that Molina held at the Palace during August and will feature the participation of outstanding artists and arts professionals, printing and photography

The City of Cartagena, through the People's University, and ZMB-Bartlett School of Architecture in collaboration with Editions Murciano Graphic Arts Center and the Contemporary Print been organized between 16 and 28 August Meetings / Workshops Graphic Creation Digital, in this third edition, will feature artists and professional photographers and engraving.

With the implementation of these workshops is proposed to Cartagena as a new benchmark in the world of graphic creation, through the acquisition of knowledge, sharing of experiences, expanding contacts and collective participation.

Such actions are a necessary complement to the usual schedule of exhibitions promoting local artists, as has been explained from the People's University.

It is from the workshops, where possible, promotes and encourages the artistic development through processes of comparison, criticism and study, and technical adequacy of the artistic goals through knowledge of different material and procedures.

These courses, taught teachers from different Spanish cities, encourage the exchange of experiences, both technical and theoretical.

As these meetings go by, it will create new networks of artists that allow the establishment of new alliances and connections between cultural traditions and contemporary today, helping to enrich the cultural capital of Cartagena.

The meeting will take around six courses / workshops for artists respectively engraving or design as Juan Lara Photogravure teach the course on photosensitive plates (from 16 to 20 August), Rosell Meseguer who will give a workshop on alternative processes contemporary photography (16 to 20 August), Paula Noya that animation to teach the course through photography.

Introduction to Stop-motion (from 16 to 20 August), Elena Jimenez teach the course Transferring images to the gum arabic in intaglio printmaking (23 to 27 August), Carlos Gonà § alves traditional techniques taught during in intaglio printmaking (23 to 27 August), and José Luis López Moral workshop will teach Digital Photography and new media (23 to 27 August).

The workshops have limited places, with a maximum not exceeding 10 students, so they will take into account the order of registration and registration for the selection of participants.

Another important aspect to consider is that today, the graphic design is an approach to public art and a democratization of collecting, to make it affordable and therefore enjoyable to a wider range of stakeholders.

For most contemporary artists serialize his work, he has brought new opportunities for marketing, coupled with a greater appreciation, being present their works in a larger number of art galleries, cultural institutions and specific collections or collecting emerging .

These workshops can be the embryo of larger structures for the development and artistic exchange, as necessary as its own programming arts events and exhibitions in a city the size and activity that today is Cartagena.

These courses and workshops are aimed at a rather broad profile of students, artists, students of Fine Arts or Arts and Crafts, students of schools and workshops in painting, drawing, photography and printmaking and in general to people and started to want to develop their expressive and creative side.

The methodology is essentially practical and very dynamic.

This third edition has sufficient resources and structural materials will be provided free to students.
