World Environment Day (04/06/2010)

The aim is to bring users of the railway stations, especially children, information on the impact of human activities on the environment

This initiative is part of the actions contained in the Plan Citizen Company's Corporate Social Responsibility Adif through Program Open Season

Adif annually invests more than 300 million euros in environmental protection in developing new infrastructure, which is approximately 12% of total investment

On the occasion of the celebration of World Environment Day, ADIF and the Federation of Scouts of Spain (ASDE) develop tomorrow June 5th advocacy in Cartagena Railway Station.

The objective of this scheme is to provide information, awareness and training environment, with particular emphasis on issues such as recycling, climate change, environmental impact and pollution.

Under the slogan "Many species. One Planet. A Future", the World Environment Day focuses this year on biodiversity.

Thus, through a varied program of activities aimed specifically at children, is to raise awareness among users of the railway stations of the environmental impact of our decisions and daily actions in the natural environment and, in general, the environment and biodiversity.

Through a playful approach, dynamic and participatory, both scouts and all children who wish to join this initiative will be guided by Asde monitors the implementation of a series of activities that include games, group dynamics, workshops, scavenger hunts, various crafts, dances and songs.

These activities will take place under the cooperation protocol signed by the presidents of ADIF, Antonio González Marín, and Asde, July Ãscar Valley, to help raise awareness of the impact of human activities on the environment citizens and users of the stations, coinciding with World Environment Day.

They are also part of the proceedings of Adif Green Plan, an ambitious program that is framed in the context of its Corporate Social Responsibility policy, whose central objective is to improve the environmental efficiency of their activity between 2009 and 2014 and contribute to the improve the natural environment and biodiversity.

In this sense, Adif annually invests more than 300 million euros in environmental protection in developing new infrastructure, which is approximately 12% of the total.

These activities also develop Adif stations in Badajoz, Barcelona-Sants, Madrid Puerta de Atocha, Ciudad Real, Logroño, Santander, Sevilla-Santa Justa, Valencia and Zaragoza-Delicias Nord.

ADIF, socially responsible company

Adif has set six commitments to meet the challenges of society and the environment in terms of social responsibility.

One of these goals is to make railway infrastructure and facilities an increasingly higher value for citizenship, welfare and progress contributor and solidarity with those most in need, according to the Business Plan Citizen Adif.

In this sense, one of the main priorities is to enhance Adif stations as meeting places, culture and dissemination of values accessible to all citizens.

To this end born Adif Program Open Season, which is part of this initiative, in which some of activities of social interest and public utility, such as exhibitions, concerts and awareness campaigns and exchange.

For its part, Asde is a nonprofit organization whose primary objective to contribute to the integral development of children and youth, and as prime development space natural environment.
