The Campo de Cartagena opened the eighth road to Vera Cruz (19/05/2010)

The Santiago basin in Santa Lucia, where tradition says the Apostle landed in Spain, is today the starting point of a new pilgrimage route.

The Councillor for Tourism Cartagena, Javier Herrero, along with their counterparts in the municipalities of Fuente Alamo, Alhama, Lorca and Caravaca, by running this new route, plus Totana, whose mayor was unable to attend, presented the Road Campo de Cartagena.

As pointed out by Javier Herrero is a route that goes from St. Lucia and the Campo de Cartagena travels to Caravaca.

She also pointed out that from this point leave other routes, as another path to the Vera Cruz through Martínez del Puerto and Murcia, the road to Santiago de Compostela, and the Grand Tour GR92 path.

The new path is different and enjoyable, highlighted the council Cartagena, and running through greenways, based on ancient route of the railway line to Totana.

All your route, about 136 kilometers, is marked and it is the intention to add value to the point from which the tradition came the Gospel in the peninsula.

EL CAMINO DEL CAMPO DE CARTAGENA

Of 136 km runs through the municipalities of Cartagena, Fuente Alamo, Alhama de Murcia, Totana, Lorca and Caravaca de la Cruz
